Relaxation Techniques: Traditionally long sweeping strokes using light to firm pressure.
Swedish - traditional relaxation massage that increases circulation, improves muscle condition, and aids the release of serotonin and dopamine hormones, leaving you with an over all sense of well being. Ideal for introductory massage, anxiety, depression, and more.
Prenatal - Light to medium pressure relaxation massage, focusing on areas of concern. The massage benefits to you and your child by increasing circulation i.e oxygen and nutrients, and aiding the release of "happy hormones" serotonin and dopamine. Happy mom, happy baby. As your pregnancy progresses we will emphasize on the hips to make birth easier. The main difference between prenatal and Swedish is positioning. We will use a variety of pillows and wedges to ensure the comfort and safety of you and your child. ***It's important to always check with your doctor, and disclose past and current "AT RISK" pregnancies.
Oncology- (excluding lymphoma) Receiving light to medium massage during treatment is highly praised by the medical community. Massage can decrease pain, depression, anxiety, and fatigue associated with cancer treatment. *Please consult your doctor before massage.
Advanced Therapeutic Techniques: Most popular type of body work. Advanced techniques are administered with a medium to deep pressure depending on you comfort level, and usually consists of two or more techniques.
Relaxation with focus - A medium to firm relaxation massage with emphasis on targeted areas using techniques such as deep tissue, myo-fascia, trigger point therapies. Deep pressure on target areas my be applied within the clients comfort range.
Hot Stone Therapy - A light to firm flowing massage using lava rocks heated to the perfect 1200-130f. Heat will penetrate your muscles allowing for optimal blood circulation, and muscle pain relief. This multifunctional service is one of few that's recommended for relaxation, deep tissue, and fibromyalgia.
Silicone Cupping Therapy - Customized massage session with spot treatment using Silicone massage cups. Traditionally used in Chinese medicine and now sports therapy. Cupping flow increases circulation, lymphatic drainage, improves fascia health and appearance of cellulite. (recommended with myofascial release technique)
Lymphatic - Massage that's specific to lymph node drainage. A light pressure is used with specific and purposeful strokes to enhance or unblock drainage. Lymph drainage aids in a healthy immunity, reduction in local inflammation and fluid retention. *All massage aids in increased lymph movement.
Myofascial Release - Recommended for clients with fibromyalgia/ myofasciitis, or chronic tension and pain. A medium to deep pressure will be used in conjunction with slow, broad, elongating strokes, cross fiber, and other mobilizing techniques to release stuck fascia. (recommended with cupping therapy)
Deep Tissue/Sports - Medium to deep pressure with massage that incorporates stretch, myofascial release techniques, as well as intricate work on deeper underlying muscles. Some techniques may include stripping and cross fiber. Sports massage will target main areas associated with your sport.
Trigger Point- Deep Pressure technique that pinpoints and alleviates trigger points that cause referred pain. Common referred pain areas include headaches, sciatica, shoulder pain, and pain between the shoulder blades. Techniques may include deep static pressure, stripping, and pin/stretch.
Post Operation- After your doctor clears you for massage, the benefits to your your recovery are immense! Depending on your surgery we will use a variety of techniques including lymphatic drainage to reduce swelling, cross fiber to break up restrictive scar tissue, and other techniques to increase mobility at your comfort level. Prior to scheduling, receive your doctors clearance and disclose your medical history in depth. Lets get you on the road to recovery!
